Detour At Lady Lake

The bridge on Hwy 9 is under construction. We turned here instead of taking the (very long and out of our way) officially designated detour. Everything is verdant and lush. It was fun to see a slightly different view of the country.

Near home, on another detour,when I decided it was too dark to photograph, was the prettiest sight of all. Deep blue rain clouds to the southwest with curtains of rain to the ground were preceded by mist over distant fields. In the foreground was a field of blossoming flax, its flowers closed for the night but still luminous in the dusk. The whole field appeared to have been sprinkled with a confetti of cloud colour.
