Standing in Line

This was the sight that greeted me as I arrived at the carriage shed this morning to start my turn guarding a driver experience train.  The loco needed had been at the wrong end of the shed so these three were towed out by a diesel and parked out of the way.

A very gentle turn.  The little carriage cleaning needed was disrupted by a team inspecting the underneath - from a pit below - prior to some routine maintenance this week.   The train itself, driven by a (paying) guest driver, had just one passenger, his partner.   With no other trains running, we did not need to keep to time which was just as well, as we lost a bit of time for various reasons and then enjoyed a leisurely lunch stop at Abergynolwyn.  It was nice to be out even if the weather was chilly and mostly grey.

This evening John and Jamie shared my slow cooked casserole and mash tea and we chatted after while I was making some simple pottery dishes ready for a glazing workshop I am running at the pottery in a couple of weeks.
