Train trip day 4 - Glacier Express to St Moritz

Back blip - catching up!

We had a last view of the mountain from our room before heading out to catch the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz.

We arrived in plenty of time and found our train, our seats were right at the front so we got a few steps in, which was a good thing as we were due to be on the train for over 7 hours.

Our bags were taken from us to be looked after, we then got comfortable and ready to enjoy the views.

We set off on time but after a while the train slowed down and stopped... it seemed there was a problem.  We sat for over an hour but then managed to limp into the next station, I think they wanted the train out the way as everything was stuck behind us. We had to wait for a new loco but they started serving some champagne, so it was not all bad.

The train got going again and the views rolled by and the food (and wine) kept coming.  We were quite careful to take very small glasses so that we did not drink too much and were very restrained... well at least I was.

We got to see lots of snow around, but it did not snow at all (I would have liked a bit of snow in the air) but instead we did get an amazing blue sky.

We enjoyed the views, the food and the experience but arrived an hour late.  We then walked to our hotel, got to our room and just relaxed, we did not need any dinner that night.

In extras: View from our room in Zermatt and views from the train.
