The first flower

Last year the first Camellia flower appeared in January and the plant continued flowering right the way through until May. After a very heavy pruning last year by an over-enthusiastic gardener, there are very few buds on the Camellia this year. I fear the same may be true of the Bottlebrush this year after the same gardener attacked it yesterday.

A long and exhausting day, have had to do seven loads of laundry. Am counting down the minutes until I can go to bed...
