Hedgerow

On the walk this morning I spotted this hedge responding to the milder weather.

Blackthorn, or Hawthorn, I am unsure.

But it was nice to see the blossom buds sprouting and soon the hedge will be displaying drifts of pink and white blossoms. I liked the colour contrast with the lichen covered branches.

A reassuring sign of the changing seasons...right on time.
