Swimming in Bicester

3 friends and I got up at dawn and travelled to Bicester to do the Oxfordshire swim of our historic counties challenge.

With a fountain and surrounding reeds, it felt like we were swimming in someone’s pond, and I looked out for goldfish but didn’t see any. Water was 9 degrees.

There was a sauna nearby so I tried the swim sauna swim sauna thing. I think I get it. :-)

We grabbed a breakfast in a lovely cafe not far away from the lake. I took the photo because in a previous life, I would have chosen the lane on the left rather than the lake on the right.

This afternoon and early evening, we gathered at a friend’s house to celebrate her 60th birthday. A nice group of about 15 of us, coming from 4 different churches in the partnership. I think this fact filled her with more joy than any of the carefully wrapped presents.
