A 14th birthday

Yesterday I did a harvest of our home growing basil, mint and parsley. They are all growing lushly, having had a fair amount of rain followed by hot, sunny and humid days. But this won't last with autumn having started, so I picked the leaves and washed them and this morning I made pesto. I took a jar for my niece whose youngest of five boys was having his 14th birthday celebs by the nearby Cooks River. That's the birthday boy on the left in the photo with his two friends who have been constants in his life for several years.

It was a very pleasant event on a lovely grey day with no rain despite its threatening. 

Once home I immediately fell asleep. No wonder really. Enjoy what's left of the weekend and have a great start to the week.
