Hamilton Wood

A very slow start to the day followed by a walk in the wood. It was mild and a bit overcast.
Lots of birdsong in the wood then skylarks above the field.
Back in the wood a hare jumped onto the path ahead of us then made his way along it before disappearing back into the undergrowth. I got positively excited. It’s ages since I’ve seen one in the wood.
The estate workers are still clearing fallen trees. It’s just the west end of the wood that the last storm hit, but there are a lot of big trees down.
