Day 8 of DDW's August daily challenge - Orange

On Monday MatthewHicks wondered what the backs of the racks were like, well now he knows. VivC was wondering if my shadows were playing around and recabling things.

Matthew may not believe it but this is far from the neatest and tidiest rack, the bends on the cables are quite untidy. In the broadcast world (rather than the IT world) every cable gets a unique number, the colour of the cable means something, the colour of the strain relief boot gives you more information and every cable gets neatly tied in. It makes it much easier to support, trace faults and make changes. When you have to support a 99.999% availability that's important (that's a maximum of 5 minutes a year downtime).

At least if anyone does recable things mischievously, it's easy to get things back to how they should be, and there is a lot of orange here just to hit today's theme.
