Ramblings and Mutterings

A nice lie in.

A quiet morning of reading.

I decided to book a ticket to see The Merchant of Venice in New Theatre, Cardiff.

I parked up and walked through beautiful Bute Park. It's a fantastic green space in the middle of the city and was very busy with plenty of people out enjoying the spring weather.

Used more of my Waterstones loyalty points on books.

The Merchant of Venice is not one of Shakespeare's fun plays. This was quite dark as there is obviously some antisemitism  in the play, so in this interpretation it was set against the background of the 1930s and Oswald Mosley's black shirts. It was a good production but very hard to enjoy.

Yummy fish cake and chips from the chippie for tea.

Now watching the rugby league, Leeds v Wigan. Wigan are currently losing with 10 minutes to go. I hope we win.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  A lie in
2.  A nice walk through beautiful Bute Park
3.  Book purchases
4.  A trip to the theatre
4.  Yummy fish cake and chips
