Anyone for Tea
My Aunt gave me this teapot last Monday to go with the Family Album of photos created by my paternal grandparents (her parents). The first few photos in the album are of their wedding on 20th January 1926, and the newspaper cuttings included indicate that this was a wedding present from two ladies, quaintly described as a cube teapot. Unfortunately, the photos are rather small and of poor quality but the ladies were clearly quite fashionable based on the Bride's dress as shown, and those of her bridesmaids.
According to similar items on eBay it is a Rare English Art Deco Teapot by the Staffordshire company G.M. Creyke and Sons, with a patented non-drip metal spout. It's registration number is also contemporary with the wedding, and it has clearly been well used based on the state of the interior!
