Play the game
More alarm dramas this morning. So whilst I got the alarm clock fixed and my alarm set, I forgot to actually set the blooming thing. So hence a mad panic then to get showered, dressed and off to the office. Lol!
My young padawan wasn't in today so it was very boring.
Today was my big meeting with our new boss, but beforehand I was told that Tuesday evening's discussions were not going to happen because it was a big risk. We shall see.
The time came for my meeting, I was made to wait 15 minutes. Things started well and the Accelerator programme we developed last year was a hot topic of discussion. I then moved on to the external context, but he was rather distracted with what was going on in the kitchen than listening to me. Rude! Because we started late I wasn't able to cover everything, so we rearranged to come back in the afternoon.
My mate was in next and we caught up over lunch. He wasn't very happy, no clarity was provided and he doesn't think he will be with us for much longer. If that was the case it would be awful for the business.
So the time comes in the afternoon, but he comes out to say he needs another 15 minutes. So after 15 minutes I venture up to the meeting room, can see that he is still deep in conversation, so I sit within his eyeline. 30 minutes go by and then he comes out to say that he has to leave and we need to rearrange. But before he leaves he asks me if the business as lean as it could be. Not impressed.
My thoughts on where we are now haven't changed. It is hard to get motivated, especially when the majority of people are in a similar position.
Great Western Railway and Paddington station decided to play a new game on the way home. I was due to catch the 18:48 but the information board was showing trains up to 18:20 and then straight to 20:48. I thought this was a mistake, so checked with the information desk and they said it was correct but that they didn't quite know if my train was going to run, so I had to guess. Thankfully it was running and I got home, despite another delay repay. At least I finished my book whilst travelling home.
Tomorrow I will have a lie in.
Today I am thankful for:
