View from a room!
We are here in Puerto Soller on the west coast of Majorca at the foot of the wonderful Sierra de Tramuntana mountains, a world heritage site.
No problems getting here unlike the massive disruption at Heathrow today but the flight took a bit longer as, according to our pilot, we were flying into a headwind. This meant we arrived at the same time as a ‘weather event’, again according to our captain. Horrendous turbulence as we tried to land so he went back up and circled for about 20 minutes and then landed without a problem. Phew!
It was raining when we landed but we drove out of that on our journey here arriving at our hotel in sunshine and this view from our room.
We have been to Majorca 5 times over the last 50 years, mainly to Puerto Pollensa in the north but we have always visited the mountains and Puerto Soller said we would stay here if we ever came again.
We’ve had a wander around the bay and sampled a beer and a sangria, very pleasant and now we’re just chilling before the dinner we have booked here in the hotel tonight.
Think we will sleep well!
Added the extra as I like the shadows of the palm trees on the beach.
Sorry can’t get map to load
