Life through the lens...

By ValC

Mum’s favourite.

Today would have been my mum’s 119th birthday.
She loved wild flowers and knew all the names.
Primroses always remind me of her.
When they moved to Cornwall we always went down with the boys to stay for the Easter holidays.
Mum and I would go for a walk, along the Cornish lanes, picking primroses from the hedgerows to decorate the pulpit at the village Methodist church.
Something I always enjoyed.

Back then today would have been the first day of Spring.
So we decided to go for a walk in Judy Woods, as although hazy it was still warmish.
One of MrC’s favourite wild flowers are wood anemones, and I remembered seeing some a few years ago in part of the wood where we don’t often go.
We found them but unfortunately they were only in bud, so will go back again in a week or so when they should have opened fully.

Called in for a cuppa at my sisters on the way home.
Her garden looks beautiful at this time of year, and she had a lot of primroses in flower.
So blip sorted for today.Especially as it is Flower Friday.
We both said Happy Birthday to mum as we looked round the garden.
Still very much in our hearts and minds even though it is 17 years since she passed away.
