Fascinating find - hanging on.

I went down the garden just before lunch looking for photos and this caught my eye. It seemed to be the remains of several flowers caught on a strand of spider's web but it was only when I looked on the computer I saw the insect caught up at the bottom, confirming it was a web.
A bit later I noticed this unusual cloud formation which remained for quite a while. Is it a curved weather front or what? Anyone know?
