Chaos
I passed this extraordinary shop this morning. It was all boarded up, I thought it was abandoned, but no, the shop keeper was there, the shop was sort of open, although there was almost no space inside - everything everywhere - a severe case of hoarding. The whole shop was falling down, and looked as if it had been for decades. But everything in the shop was carefully labelled with a price. I spent a while chatting to the elderly owner, who was telling me that, before the war, when a young man, he had tried for a job as a municipal toilet janitor, because it came with a ladder and bicycle, but they rejected his application when they discovered that he could not read or write. Great chatting to him, great sense of humour, but what a surrealistic setup... The shop was full to the ceiling with stuff, more stuff all over the floor, with a thin passage between the stuff, from the door to the back of the shop. Outside, a couple of dilapidated rusty delivery vans dating from the 1950's.
