Wild Flowers
Today we visited the beautiful Ickworth House in Suffolk where I was particularly impressed with some of the paintings adorning the walls - some by Gainsborough, Joshua Reynolds and Titian (no less). I'm a particular fan of Titian and I couldn't have been more pleased.
The weather was lovely and after viewing the house we strolled down the drive and past a renovated 13th century church to a walled garden, part of which was given up to a wonderful wild flower meadow. Beyond that was a lake full of water lillies where damsel and dragon flies hovered by the water's edge. Now we're all relaxing over a glass of red wine. All in all, just a perfect day.
