Upside Down
One of our sofas (the one that’s getting used the most, obviously) has started to make ominous “bong” sounds, and to sag.
We thought about getting a new one, and looked at some websites, but didn’t see anything that we liked (without it costing as much as a small car). And buying some bespoke and expensive couches doesn’t make much sense with three scratch-happy cats in the house.
So I decided to do the sustainable thing, and repair the one we have. Today, after work, I dragged some furniture around, to make space to turn the sofa on its head, and open the underside. That was a bit fiddly, but not difficult. I found three broken springs and took them out.
We ordered new ones that should fit, and here the story ends for today. Sorry for the cliffhanger - I’ll keep you posted on the results, and whether we’ll need to get a new couch after all.
