Another Glorious Day

Towels washed and dried quickly outside and Sainsbury’s groceries delivered. Then after nipping into town for something I forgot yesterday, I tackled the pile of ironing whilst catching up on some programmes I’d recorded. After lunch I drove over to Cley and walked down to the windmill area for a bimble before attending a superb concert at Cley church. It was by Julian Godlee (bass soloist) and Brenda Blewett (piano) and was of song cycles. Both performers have made recordings and performed on Classic FM and Radio 3. Part 1 was a song cycle of music by Schumann and text by Heinrich Heine. Part 2 was created by Julian and Brenda and linked 5 songs by Schubert with 5 contemporary songs by Sting and Eva Cassidy. We are so lucky to get live music of this standard on a regular basis. Please see extra for my first peacock butterfly photo of the year, I’d also seen one in the garden earlier.
