Neighbours …

For the past 4 years we have new back neighbours , whose garden partly edges on our garden. First they stripped all the high green shrubs on their side that made a natural division between their garden and ours. Then they left this open for 3 years, so that they could look into our garden and we in theirs. Two months ago they were suddenly hacking away at shrubs in our garden and so I went over to the edge of our garden to ask them what they were doing. They don’t like shrubs or trees and are afraid that squirrels will walk over their roof and enter into their house … which is more than 4 meters away but ok…. They said they didn’t trust the division poles and also said they would start building a shed in the open place soon.  No talking to us first, just a statement about the shed. While we were in Italy they have started their shed construction. On the outer edge of their garden, right under our lovely weeping silver birch. I expect that by the time autumn sets in they’ll start whining about leaves falling on their shed and will want us to cut down branches that hang above their shed. Why oh why do people move to a neighbourhood filled with 40 to 50 year old trees and shrubs, squirrels, hedgehogs, birds, pheasants and even hares if they don’t like nature ? Grrrr

Tomorrow’s optional theme for Abstract Thursday is ‘abstract happiness ‘ and the tag will be AT508.
