Over Yonder

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

It has just been that sort of day. The sort of day when there really weren't enough C-bombs to throw around.

I had quite a nice start. It was raining outside and Crashy was snuggled up next to my bum. Don't wrinkle your nose. He likes it back there. The lad has taste.

I lay there in a relaxed state and decided to send a loving text to my beautiful wife who should be getting ready to board her aeropl-

I MISSED THE CHECK IN TIME BY TWO C***ING MINUTES

She explained.

She had paid an extra $50 to get on a later plane at c***ing 1.45pm. That meant she would be sitting in Tauranga airport all day. I said she should go somewhere else, but she was grumpy and not having it.

AND I HAD TO DO A POO IN THE AIRPORT

She went on. Poor Caro. She would have hated that. She hates pooing in places.

I SHOULD HAVE SH*T ON THE CHECK IN DESK AND LEFT IT THERE

Well, maybe I'm wrong about that.

My day also seemed influenced by retrograde planets. Two jobs have fallen through, including the one I really wanted. The sh*tey job I don't really want has not yet fallen through but they are very silent and I don't like it. It screams of imminent rejection.

On top of that was the fact that Kāinga Ora seem determined to make me work ridiculously hard in my last 7 days to avoid giving me any sort of extension. So I was in a grumpy work mood.

This was not helped by my FINALLY receiving a file of data that I need imminently to do my job. Like for TOMORROW.

And it was RUBBISH. I'm not going to be technical here. It was like something you'd find left on the counter at a check-in desk.

So I threw my toys out of the pram and an emergency meeting was held. It has not alleviated the pressure on me really, but I did get to reject that file.

And after the meeting I thought, "Ah f*** it," and instead of working I applied for jobs because seriously this is just dumb*.

In fact, stopping working early was the best thing I could have done. I had a nap with Punky and felt a lot better. The malevolent planets seemed to have turned their back on Caro too. She met Tiger on the train and he offered her a ride home.

So now she is back. She has re-bonded with her little hairy pals and is back at her end of the couch and all is well with the world.

And tomorrow is another day.

S.

* I'm going to have to work all effing weekend AGAIN if you are thinking I'm shirking. AND I worked late last night. AND the night before.
