A win
Normally, we never buy extended warranty with electronics, or most anything for that matter. It's usually happened that things have been replaced before they break down,
But last night, we couldn't get any sound out of the surround sound system which had been working faultlessly for quite a long time.
After the usual huffing and puffing about "who knocked one of the connections off? and a lot of "are you sure the wires are still connected, did you try every one of them?", and other clueless tripe, it was decided to call the shop this morning and ask about costs for repair rather than just go out a buy a new one.
Lo and behold! When I called, they hastened to tell me that we bought it in 2022 and it was warranted until 2027 and would be fixed without charge, or replaced with a new one under the extended warranty that we bought at the time.
Maybe I have to rethink my stance on warranties!
The only problem is that it takes between 4 and 6 weeks.
I can handle that, after all, a win is a win.
Ah well...
