After yesterday’s blip, I was honored that many of you referred to me as “Jack.” “He looks just like…” well, you know who he looks like.

I have never blipped a screenshot. Is that even possible? I guess we’ll see. I don’t listen to the Grateful Dead as much as I used to, but once a Deadhead, always a Deadhead. Today, I listened to the Dead. This has always been one of my favorite Dead tunes, although that said, that’s a long list. The English teacher in me always loved this song because of its references to Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” I won’t go into master’s level analysis, but I will quote these lines:

“…treachery tearing me limb from limb.”

“You may be a clown in the burying ground, or just another pretty face.” Reference to Yorick.

“You may be the fate of Ophelia, sleeping and perchance to dream. Honest to the point of recklessness, self centered to the extreme.”

Other themes, but I will leave it here.

A former English teacher is dangerous with song lyrics and time on his hands. Here’s the tune: https://youtu.be/ZZNZgtj26Fk?si=RvUZSLIUsIIpHRW3
