Wool gathering
In Shetland these tufts of sheep's wool caught on fences are called hentitaglets. A lovely word! So far as I know, there isn't an equivalent Orkney word.
Lottie and I walked over to the Sandwick beach this morning. It took us 2 hrs, there and back, including 20mins to sit and eat my apple, and enjoy the sound of the waves.
Only one car and one tractor passed us. I saw my first hedgehog of the year, but sadly it was on the road and had been hit by a car.
