The famous window in St Olaf’s Church, Wasdale Head. Definitely the most impressive mountain area in England.
Called in the bakers in Gosforth for a ham salad sandwich for my lunch on the way. I was so engrossed by the Wast Water and its fells, I finally got round to eating it at about half four.
Had a pint of lager shandy in Ritson’s Bar which was where British mountaineering started. I think I earned it. A fantastic day out.
