In our house Heather has another significant meaning.
For the past two years we have received a free email called Letters from an American. The link with Alastair Cook’s Letter from America will resonate with many.
These letters are written by Heather Cox Richardson, a Professor of  American History at Boston College,Mass.
I can think of no better way of keeping up with and understanding the momentous events which are taking place. The letters are particularly good at linking current day events with the political and social history of the country since 1776.
