Unmistakable. Lumix M4/3 20mm
At work early today, I was trolling around the clinic looking for Blip material, when I remembered an item which has been on my To-Photograph list for a while: the Leica microscope in the lab, usually draped in its red shroud.
I have known S the lab tech for nearly two decades. He is one of the last of a group made redundant by centralizing lab analysis at the company's main facility. Back in the day, every site's lab had at least one tech who could run Stat tests through their machine, or look at a sample under a microscope. No longer; the samples are collected in batches several times during the day by couriers, and taken to the central lab for resulting.
We will be working together for the foreseeable future, but the photo plan morphed on the fly, and he became part of my little portrait gallery of colleagues captured in their contexts. Having asked his permission to photograph the fine, yet seldom-if-ever-used Leica microscope, I asked if he wouldn't mind posing... And so he did.
