Sunny Sunday

I took another walk around Buttertubs Marsh today.  There weren't many birds and those that were there were well camouflaged in the reeds.  There was a deer grazing at the side of the trail but it bolted before a shot was possible.  There are 2 large ant hills, one on each side of the trail, but I learned on reviewing the photos that I needed my mentor (who stayed back resting with hip pain) with me - my shutter speed was too slow to properly catch those billions? of busy ants.  So, today my photo is a blackberry vine and its leaves that somehow have stayed green through the winter.  In late summer the berries are so delicious that it's worth braving the thorns to harvest the fruit.
