Fishing In A Dry Lake
There is actually water way out here in Sahuarita Lake, however, this manmade lake has been drained to a low level for maintenance. I've never seen it this low. This was the first time I realized that it is actually completely made of cement. This is how it usually looks.
I was amazed at the number of people (seven!) who were fishing in the low level lake on a Wednesday afternoon. It looked like a casting nightmare, but I suppose a good fisherman casts out away from the edge of the lake anyway.
It was a nice dsay up to this point. Then I went to Fry's, the grocery store. Some old coot, who couldn't see, walk or hear backed up out of his parking space right into my stopped car. I had nowhere to go because I was boxed in. I had laid on my horn, which he obviously didn't hear.
There is no more sinking feeling than watching a car coming at you, knowing you are going to be hit and not being able to do anything about it.
My 7-month old front bumper was crushed by his giant steel wheelchair carrier attached to his huge SUV. I'm not going to make myself sick about it. What's done is done. I've just got to move forward.
