I love real Turkish Delight, so I’m not surprised if I receive a package of the genuine article when he returns from  some distant or exotic destination. This came from exotic Redditch, our  home town.
I shouldn’t be surprised, we’ve long had a large mix of
Ethnic groups. There are many more food shops selling
their sorts of food in the town centre than there are British.
This isn’t a complaint, good luck to them.
