The library hosts
an annual event for
artists and poets

I was up having my coffee at 7:30, then spent the morning trying to organize and pack my supplies and belongings for my exit next week.

At 12:30 I drove over to our local library for the culmination of the Art and Poetry Exhibition. I believe this started 10 years ago when an artist in our art association, who was also a librarian, invited us all to participate.

This year, the artists submitted  pieces to the library, then a poet selected a piece to write a poem for it. There were 25 art works, each with a poem this year.

The exhibit was open to the public for the week, with viewers voting for their favourites. Awards were given for three categories: the favourite art work, the favourite poem, the favourite collaboration of art and poetry.

I was able to have a brief chat with several artists that I know before collecting my painting.  Unfortunately, the poet that wrote the poem for my painting did not appear today. I would have liked to say thank you as I like the poem produced.

The library will soon have this exhibition online for others to view.

Now that my blip is done, I heading off to my favourite burger place as I may not have another opportunity before my departure.
