Dusting

Lunch with G’s brother and wife takes us over to the little village of Rhos Isaf where they live in an old stone cottage with fabulous views over towards Anglesey. We sit and chat over a light lunch for a few hours, enjoying Ann’s delicious gluten free coffee cake.

Having driven there along the coast, our return journey is through the mountains, beautiful today in glorious sunshine, the highest peaks dusted with the snow that’s fallen over the last few chilly days.

We stop just before Llanberis so I can photograph Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)  from the shores of Llyn Padarn - always a beautiful view and even better today with the dusting of white on the mountain’s upper slopes.

Back home, there’s a quick turnaround as we’re heading out to the gallery in Llandudno for the opening of their latest exhibition. These evenings are always interesting with a chance to view the work of one or two Welsh artists who are usually present to mingle with invited guests. Having found it impossible to find out much about the artist of yesterday’s paintings, I ask the gallery owner if he knows anything about John Granville Gregory, but he doesn’t. Apparently Gregory still lives in Anglesey but doesn’t seem to be part of the art scene - so sad after the magnificence of the two Caravaggio style paintings.

Too tired to think about cooking, we pick up a take-away pizza then watch the first two episodes of the excellent ‘Adolescence’ which we’ll finish off tomorrow. What an incredible piece of television.
