Waiting For Liftoff

The RV park we're staying at is almost 300 miles from Cape Canaveral but when the conditions are right during a launch we can watch the rockets lift their payloads into space.  It takes about 58 seconds for the rocket to get high enough for us to see it but its a thrill nonetheless.  Daytime launches are not as impressive as the ones after dark when the "rocket's red glare" contrasts strongly with the inky sky.
    The picture is of (part of)the crowd that gathered late this afternoon to watch 4 astronauts ride the fire on their way to the Space Station.
