Procrastination
Today I should have started marking the class test, but I found a sequence of distractions throughout the day. First was a call with И, in which we fixed a bug in something she'd written a year ago, leading to her breaking new ground in how Google's modelling system can call HiGHS. I then tried to reproduce a bug that had been reported a couple of days ago, only for the person who'd reported it to admit that it was an error on his part.
The case study for my course is being devised and delivered by a colleague, and today I spent time trying to assess whether it was suitable. Eventually I discovered that the data for the first part yielded an infeasible model. So, unlike my difficult model, this one simply wouldn't have worked. This saved her a lot of embarrassment, and I hope she's learning, because someone is going to have to take over the course from me someday. Tired, I finished the day with some easy programming.
In the evening I watched some of the U20 Wales Vs England rugby match whilst cooking, and what a shambles England and the referee were. I wasn't sorry to see Wales win. Then it was off with Django, since A is away for the weekend with her friends.
