Purple haze
I'm still very constrained by the pneumonia: I'm feeling a lot better, but all the advice cautions against doing too much too quickly. I've seen Ruth go through pneumonia twice, when she was younger, so I'm pretty motivated about being careful.
So today's only excursion has been to the garden. The hamamellis is finishing, as is the daphne next door to it (the source of the purple haze). They've both been fantastic this spring, a real source of delight.
My other achievement today has been ordering a secondhand MahJong set for Eben: it is his birthday on the 21st (and mine too). Our combined age will be 80 (only 9 of those years being his). I'm hoping I'll be well enough for us to have a joint celebration that evening. He's enjoyed MahJong so much recently that I feel it's time for him to have a set of his own. As with many things, there are better-quality items available secondhand that many of the new versions.
