The Ilen river
We went out for a walk this morning along a stretch of the Ilen river between Drimoleague and Castledonovan. There's a new path put in for walkers, and very pleasant it was, with footbridges, seating and picnic benches, a birdwatcher's hide, and even poetry on plaques, thoughtfully provided at regular intervals. My only complaint would be that the two walks, one going downriver and the other upriver, did not meet each other, so each walk was quite short.
It was a lovely day, steamy and sunny. I pootled about at home for the afternoon, freezing vegetables and working in the polytunnel and so on.
