Gold Souk
Friday is here once again, and I had a relaxing morning without the school run, thanks to Gabriel and his handy new driving license. Another spring hotchpotch of weather, fine and sunny first thing, but by mid-morning heavy clouds had drawn in and it started to look rather dismal. I’ve been having a flurry of creativity on my annual leave (it won’t last long) so I was up early to crack on with some writing and editing, before heading out for coffee and breakfast.
Today’s blip is a little unusual. I did take some photographs while I was out and about, but in the end my favourite image of the day was this rather surreal abstract. I began with a simple photograph of a handy hand with a computer keyboard in the background. After several experiments to find the right pathway through a variety of AI models, and some follow up work in Photoshop and Luminar Neo, I arrived at this picture. It has an interesting duality between the mysteriously cloth-draped hand, and ominous hints of a human figure, dressed for the desert and reminiscent of the Old Souk in Dubai, many years ago.
