Remembering Alec
Alec Ramsden, an old friend from my days in Huddersfield, died today. He was 80, I was surprised to hear. I hadn't seen him for some time. I wrote a note with a picture I'd love to back blip but I can't remember the date on which it was taken.
I should say I just happened to have this image in my camera when I heard about Alec. He was not a sentimental chap, well not overtly, and would have preferred a picture of a narrow boat, I'm sure, because he liked narrow boats and travelling the canals. But I didn't have a narrow boat. He also liked beer and chewing the fat in the pub. We did a lot of that in the Albert that adjoined the Examiner. The newspaper has moved now and the pub has closed.
