Walk to Appleton Reservoir
Wednesday 5 March
We’ve been so fortunate with the weather this trip, and today was another beautiful mild sunny day. Roger, Jen and I actually got two walks in today, making the most of it. Janet and John were busy in the morning, so the three of us went for a local walk in the morning, then we all met up around midday, as we were all going out for lunch in Warrington. They had been there for the first time a few months ago with John’s sister and husband, but it was new to us, and as we walked from the car park to the restaurant, we discovered a part of Warrington we hadn’t seen before, including the poignant River of Life memorial in Bridge Street, commemorating the two children killed and over 50 injured in the IRA bombing in Saturday the 20th March 1993. We enjoyed a very good lunch together, then in the afternoon, Janet and the three of us went for a walk down to Appleton Reservoir, where I captured this juvenile swan.
