Dog Stone
We had a day in Oban today, necessitated by an audiology appointment but we made the most of it and achieved quite a lot. During the afternoon we took Bertie for a walk in Dunollie Woods and the track led us to this old conglomerate sea stack called the Dog Stone. I haven’t been so close to it since I was attended Oban High School in my youth. It’s a great structure sitting on the raised beach and left high and dry after the last ice age. The much more recent (but old enough to be ruined) Dunollie Castle is also in this shot, perched on the clifftop.
