Its been a somewhat frustrating day. We decided to extend our kitchen garden by adding a soft fruit bed. I bought a fruit cage to keep the birds off the loganberries, redcurrants and raspberries that we hope to grow. It arrived this morning and I set about putting it all together only to find that six crucial bolts and the door frame are missing. Replacements have been dispatched by the supplier. So I've finished rotavating the kitchen garden, ready for potato planting at the weekend. Late afternoon walk along Offas Dyke with beautiful views across the Teme valley towards the Cwnclas/Knucklas railway viaduct which carries trains on the 120 mile Heart of Wales line from Shrewsbury to Swansea. Travelling south Cwnclas is the first stop in Wales. Prior to that it stops in Knighton/Tref-y-Clawdd. Although the town is in Wales, its railway station is in England.
