Les Mis

This handpainted poster on the side of the theatre where Les Mis was playing was notable in the sun this morning.  The show must have been there long enough to warrant something permanent.  I’ve seen it twice, once close to when it opened and once when I was involved in the early stages of a BBC version of the novel.   It held up pretty well the second time , never a shortage of good young singers to rejuvenate the cast, although the screenwriter referred to the Eponine of the time as having a voice like a ‘strangled cat’ so it can’t have been all good.

I enjoyed the cold clear sunny walk up to the the office.   Very good day in the room although were startled by sleet outside at one point.

We wrapped up around 4 and I made it home nice and early.  V cooked supper and I watched a White Lotus.  Not really feeling this one, it’s dragging and we’re all waiting for a climax that never seems to happen.
