The cardigan

I bought rainbow self-striping wool as a student living in Glasgow as I took up knitting as a hobby. It didn’t last long and ended up in my graveyard of forgotten crafts. Then when I met Ross he told me his mum was a good knitter so I gave her my stash to see if she could use any. Then when we found out I was expecting George she quietly made up this lovely cardigan just incase we might have a girl after years of only boys on both sides but then wasn’t needed. Then when I was expecting Max, the cardi came out again (just in case) and quietly was packed away after he arrived. Then when my brother in law was expecting his first baby she asked if she might gift it to them if they had a girl. “Sure” I said, there was no way we would have another baby and we were so happy with our boys. And once again it was quietly packed away as our nephew Blair arrived. But then one more baby came along and changed everything for all of us. So here’s my girl in the cardigan made by her gran 8 years before she was born and using wool bought by her Mum 7 years before that.
