Hail Storm Hill
It was a glorious afternoon so headed for the moors on the border with Lancashire and it was a cracking walk, with sunshine and interesting things to see along the way, lots of butterflies, bees and birds, old quarries and reservoirs.
Hail Storm Hill overlooks the villages of the Rossendale Valley and is easily located as it is full of wind turbines (there was one about 100m behind me when I took this shot). There are great views towards Pendle Hill to the north (just peeping over the horizon here) and in the other direction, you can see Oldham, Manchester and on a clear day Jodrell Bank in the distance.
