First bumble-bee

Today I saw the first bumble bee in the garden and the first camellia in bloom. So good news.

We have been asked to extend our ban on feeding the birds and squirrels for another two weeks , not because there have been more cases of squirrelpox but to ensure the disease has been erradicated from our area.

Certainly we have not seen any squirrels, red or gray, for a few weeks.
