Back in Edinburgh
After a lovely overnight stay with Ann's nephew Jack, and his partner, Gabby; this morning we set off early so were at 'Angel of the North' by 10.30am. I'd already had an early morning walk in 'Wickersley Park' and it had been cold, but OMG, it was only 4C at 'Angel of the North'. When we left St Ives yesterday it was 12C. Then we headed to 'Spittal Beach' where it was slightly warmer, though windy, and I had a good run about.
By 2.30pm we were back in Edinburgh and it was warm with fabulous sunshine. Yay!
I'm snoozing in my favourite little bed now, but I have to say; Ann has been very productive since she came back......................
She has:
Unpacked the whole car, including the 12 bottles of wine that she always brings back with her. That won't last long?! Met a neighbour whilst moving it all in who said, 'I see you've got your priorities right?' ….......Absolutely! Buying 12 bottles of wine in England saves her a minimum of £1 per bottle and usually more, because in England most supermarkets do deals, whereby you get 25% of if you buy 6 bottles or more. That just doesn't happen in Scotland!
I accompanied Ann to the bank because a couple of weeks ago she found her 'emergency old paper £20 note' in a rucksack that she hadn't used for years and as St Ives no longer has any banks, she just kept it until we came back to Edinburgh. Very nice person immediately just changed it for an updated £20 note. I'm hoping Ann will use it to by me lots of treats but I doubt it!!!
Then we went to 'Timpsons' the shoe repair shop but they also do batteries etc because a few years ago, Ann bought her watch a 'battery for life' and her watch stopped last week. Grrrrrrrr............... One of her 'St Ives' friends tried to tell her that it was the watch that had died, not the battery???? Mmmmm.......... you were wrong Martin. Lol! New battery installed and Ann's watch is working perfectly.
Back home and Ann opened all her mail. Not that she has much mail because everything is done online these days, but she's always worried that she's going to get a speeding fine. Yes we do have a friend that checks in on our place and sends us our mail every month.
She's got an appointment for her first 'Shingles' vaccine at the end of March, so thought she'd be super efficient and make an appointment for her 'pneumococcal vaccine...................... More than 25 mins 'on hold & being told she was no. 3 in the queue' for more than 20 mins, she eventually got to speak to a real live person. …...........Whoopee doo, she has an appointment for this Thursday. Yay!
…............After that our life all went a bit downhill.......................
Our TV isn't working. It's been switched off for 4 months (as is the norm) but when we re switched on the electricity, it just went into 'standby mode' and our remote couldn't switch it on. Obv my human has googled it, but hasn't come up with any answers. …..........And yes, she has changed the batteries in the remote.
Also our wifi keeps dropping out. Not sure why? Obv because we don't live here full time, my human just wants the cheapest wifi package that she can get, but if our wifi keeps zoning out then we can't check anything can we? Problems, problems?
Anyway, it's good to be back, but it's actually really hard work and financially draining to have two houses at opposite ends of the country. ..................But we're happy to be back and I guess that's the main thing.
We've got loads to do tomorrow.....................
Toodles xxxx
PS – Any Edinburgh Blippers got a spare TV that we could borrow for a month?
