It was chilly when I went out with bird food. Sunny though. Not long afterwards I glanced out of the window and wondered what was on the bird feeder. It was a grey squirrel hanging by its tail trying to get sunflower hearts.

Later I drove to Windermere for bread and a few other groceries. Hoped to find parking at Waterhead on the way back for an easy blip but all the spaces by the pier were taken.

It clouded over around midday but the blue sky reappeared so I had a wander. Some of the local footpaths are lined with these large pieces of slate instead of a wall. There are some interesting lichen patterns on them and today shadows too.
