Journies at home

Potager

All through the winter markets a man sells sausages on the corner of the Petits Couverts, this morning he was gone, replaced by the vegetable couple.  I was happy to see them because they are the harbingers of spring.

In a rush before lessons I planted onions for the summer, lettuces for as soon as possible and four swiss chards (idem).

A soft rain fell and the onions started to stand up straight.  I let them get on with it while we started to clear out the Big Room, listening to the broom sweeps of Lizzie seeing to the last of the  leaves brought in by the wind.

Later, walking home down the Allée there was smoke coming from our chimney and my Man hanging out the washing on the line and a swell in my heart at coming home..

Several seasons in one day.
