Pedal to lunch
It was going to be brunch but the rain hung around for a bit longer than expected. It was always going to be a short last day because the Canarian wind was forecast to set in.
It wasn’t desperate along the coast but it was into a strong cross headwind so the usual light aircraft bouncing around was going on for me. We thought we had it tough but when we went to the carnival later, they were hanging on to their giant weathervane-like headdresses walking straight into it, giant feathers sticking out at all angles blowing in the wind - with probably a good couple of miles to walk!
The costumes were spectacular and the music loud and happening. We watched, standing in front of our restaurant, for three-quarters of an hour before sitting down to watch the rest of it go by. It made for a great last night’s entertainment- and still time to play Fox - we lost tonight!
