Mono Monday - ‘Left Behind’

It was an off-normal Monday today. I was up very early in order to call round for a friend at 7.15am and take her to a hospital appointment in Colchester. I returned the heated throw she had brought round while I was without heating, which was so useful for keeping warm in the evenings. We arrived in good time, and she was second on the list to have her procedure done. As she was having it under sedation, there was a bit of a wait while she recovered for an hour afterwards and had something to eat after being nil by mouth. I had come prepared, and the time soon passed reading a book. I drove her home and saw her indoors, and am just around the corner if she needs anything. I heard from her this afternoon, and she’s been resting tucked up under the heated throw which is perfect to help with the pain.

After lunch, my friends Christine and David popped round to collect the two heaters they had kindly lent me for the past two weeks. I then did some housework, followed by a walk up the road for grocery top-ups from Tesco. And there you have it, Monday done.

Thanks to LesleyAlsford for hosting this week’s Mono Monday challenge, with the theme of ‘Left Behind’. The heating engineer who installed the new boiler at the weekend left behind three long pvc pipes for finishing off the condenser drainage later this week. They’re propped up in the garden by the gate, and I thought they made an interesting combination of light and dark lines and angles for a mono image.
